Gematria.Life ("the Service") is an online instrument for studying the Hebrew text of the Torah: reading it, seeing the numerical values of its words and letters under multiple traditional calculation methods, and searching words, roots, and values across the five books. These Terms are an agreement between you and the operator named above ("we," "us"). By using the Service you accept them; if you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.
Reading the Torah on the Service is free and requires no account. Free use also includes a limited number of "lookups" per day (searches by root, spelling, or numerical value); the current limit is shown in the Service. A paid subscription ("Premium") removes the lookup limit and includes the additional features described at the time of purchase. We may adjust what is included in the free tier and in Premium; material reductions to Premium during a paid period entitle you to a pro-rated refund on request.
Premium is billed as a subscription — monthly or annual, at the prices shown at checkout — and is processed by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal linked in the Service; upon cancellation, Premium remains active until the end of the period already paid, and no further charges are made. Prices may change; changes take effect at your next renewal and we will provide notice before they do.
If Premium is not for you, tell us within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full — no questions asked. After that, payments already made are non-refundable except where required by law or provided elsewhere in these Terms, but you can always cancel future renewals. To request a refund, use the contact form on the site.
Premium access is tied to the email address used at checkout and is granted through sign-in links sent to that address. Keep access to that mailbox secure; anyone with access to it can use your subscription. One subscription is for one person's personal use. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse of the Service (see section 7).
The Hebrew text of the Torah and the 1917 Jewish Publication Society English translation are in the public domain. Root and lemma data derive from the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible project and Strong's lexicon, used under their open licenses. The Service's software, design, and presentation are our property. You may quote reasonable excerpts of what the Service shows you for study, teaching, and publication; you may not scrape, bulk-download, or republish the Service's database or substantial portions of its output, or resell access to the Service.
Do not attempt to circumvent the lookup meter or paywall, probe or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, use automated tools to extract data at scale, or use the Service in any unlawful way. We may limit or terminate access for violations, with a refund of any unused paid period unless the violation was intentional abuse.
The Service is a reference and study instrument. While we work hard for accuracy — our counts and connections come from established scholarly data — we do not warrant that any text, count, translation, or connection is free of error, and nothing in the Service constitutes religious, halachic, or any other professional advice. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or CAD $20 if you paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including under Ontario consumer protection legislation.
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will post notice on the Service before they take effect; continued use after that date is acceptance. The current version is always at this address.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. Courts located in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have rights to proceed in your local courts under your local consumer law.
